Round 5 of the Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program is now open for business located in Queensland.
The government program is designed to assist new small businesses to access professional services and advice in the early stages of operation.
About the grant
The grant promises to match up to $5,000 (excluding GST) for eligible businesses to engage a consultant, advisor or business coach for up to three months to help establish or develop the business. The minimum grant amount is $1,000.
This means eligible businesses can claim 50% of costs (up to $5,000) associated with:
- Mentoring and coaching
- Business strategic planning
- Professional business advice (including Information technology (IT), legal advice and financial advice)
- Marketing strategy development
Costs associated with developing branding strategies, social media strategies, digital strategies and market research are cover by the grant.
Payment of the grant are made directly to the business bank account upon completion of the project. Businesses must provide proof of payment for the service to receive the grant.
Eligible Business
To be eligible for the Small Business Entrepreneur Grants Program, the business must:
- Have registered business name within the last 4 years
- Must have fewer than 20 employees at the time of grant
- Have an Australian Business Number
- Have headquarters located in Queensland
- Not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are an undischarged bankrupt
The partaking business must deliver a project report on completion of the project outlining how the funds were spent and the impact it has had on the business.
Only 1 application will be accepted from an individual ABN or a financial beneficiary of a business.
Successful candidates cannot reapply for this grant in future rounds.
Your business must also be in a financial position to pay up front for the approved training or service(s) in full. If successful, accepted candidates will then be repaid after submitting supplier invoices and evidence of purchase.
