The original website was built on the Wix platform, which has a reputation for ranking poorly in search engines. We provided a complete rebuild of the website, on the robust WordPress content management system.

We implemented a Google Ads campaign targeting people searching for residential & commercial roofing services in Newcastle.

This helped increase website traffic, and exposed the business to potential customers, that were using Google to find businesses that provide roofing services, in the greater Newcastle region.

The Process

OUR APPROACH TO THE PROJECT

#1 Initial Meeting

INITIAL MEETING

We were originally contacted by the office manager, because the website wasn’t displaying in the search results, when the businesses name was searched in Google. They were concerned their customers wouldn’t be able to find them online.

We conducted an audit of the website to determine why it was ranking poorly in search engines. In addition to the audit, we also undertook keyword research and an online competitor analysis, to identify any online marketing opportunities for the business.

#2 Research

BACKGROUND RESEARCH

From the audit we determined the main reason the website wasn’t ranking, was because it was built by the client using Wix. Website built using Wix are notorious for ranking poorly in search engines. The original website had no search engine optimisation and it had lean content, making it hard for search engine bots to understand the content.

We also conducted keyword research, using Google Keyword Planner. This revealed the following:

‘Roofing Newcastle’ was searched on average 260 times a month in Google, in Australia.

‘Roofing Contractors Newcastle’ was searched on average 70 times a month in Google, in Australia.

‘Colorbond Roofing Newcastle’ was searched on average 50 times a month in Google, in Australia.

#3 Opportunity

THE OPPORTUNITY

The high number of Google searches created an opportunity to attract potential customers to the website. First page exposure in Google for keywords such as ‘Roofing Newcastle’, ‘Roofing Contractors Newcastle’ and ‘Colorbond Roofing Newcastle’ would help improve website traffic and drive sales.

There was limited competition in the search results for these keywords. Therefore, we believed with a website rebuild, basic search engine optimisation, and a Google Ads campaign, the client could attract potential customers online.

#4 Solution

THE SOLUTION

Website Design: we built a responsive website which utilised a professional and easy to use design. The website provides the user with all the information they need to know about the business. In addition to the website, we also produced search engine friendly copy for the site.

Google Ads: we created and managed a Google Ads campaign for the client. This campaign aims at promoting the business to their target market.

Basic SEO: during the construction of the website, we implemented basic on-page optimisation to help search engines understand the websites content. We included the keywords in meta-titles, meta-descriptions, anchor texts. Furthermore, we used Googles data highlighter tool, to mark up data on the website.
